St Mary the Virgin Church

A local woman, Lady Blythe, decided that the workers of the town needed a church and she donated the money and chose a suitable site. However, after she died, the site was relocated from the top of the hill to closer to the river. Her unhappy spirit has been seen, dressed in blue and wearing a bonnet.
