Boscobel House

On 28th October 2025, properties manager Margaret gave a talk about ghosts at English Heritage sites, and a summary was placed on the Fortean Forums website; "Boscobel House is apparently haunted by a bad tempered cavalier, seen on one occasion by the custodian who lives nearby. The angry spirit was allegedly responsible for alarms going off in the middle of the night, bangs, crashes and things being moved about. On one memorable occasion the custodian went to reset the alarms and was terrified by a pounding on the door so hard the the door shook. On another occasion it sounded like an exhibition in an upstairs room was being smashed to pieces. The sounds ceased when Margaret approached the door and nothing was damaged in the room."
