Moira Furnace Museum

Cold spots - and hot spots! - have been encountered here, as have the sound of children playing, mysterious red lights, a phantom teenage boy, the sound of ghostly footsteps, gunshots and dragging, and a spectral gamekeeper.

Update: 19/3/20 Tom Phillips, Operations Supervisor replied to my email to inform me that the museum had been featured in the current edition of the magazine, 'Fate and Fortune.' Within that article, it mentions footsteps and the sound of a crowd of people talking on the main staircase; there is also a poltergeist, nicknamed Norman who slams doors and move objects around. In future emails, Tom told me that, "During day to day operations we have often heard bumps and bangs and experienced pooling of water. Shadows have been seen and movement in peoples peripheral vision. There has been an account by a visitor who came into the museum and saw our manakin [sic] model of the Earl of Moira. This older gentleman had a bit of a start when he saw this and explained that, as a teenager, himself and a friend had seen this figure, dressed identically, walking over the fields next to the furnace before vanishing. This was the first time he had visited the museum, now retired, and had told very few people of what he had seen prior."
