Now private homes, when the building was a pub it was subject to a variety of poltergeist-like phenomena, such as items disappearing (most of which turned up again), a tray of mixers falling to the floor from the bar, and running heard on the upstairs corridor. The final publican talked of the room above the kitchen always being cold, bangings, toilet doors squeaking after hours, plates and other items flying off shelves in the kitchen and the freezer's contents being found emptied on to the floor in the morning. The very last night was a situation of bedlam; as the publican said it seemed that the ghost was not happy that the pub was closing! Electric bulbs exploded, beer taps turned on, and fridges and freezers turned themeselves off.
