Behind the 18th century facade is a building that contains two archways, perhaps belonging to a much older merchant's house. Staff would report their cleaning cloths moved, whispers from vacant areas, and things flying off shelves in the washing-up area. One staff member reported his name being called out and thinking it was a colleague, he asked them what they wanted, to be told they hadn't said anything.
