Items were witnessed to fly off the shelves many years ago, and further back in time, a group of young lads had their intended plan to pilfer grapes from the orangery scuppered when they saw a lady in the top room. She seemed to be illuminated by a candle, and the building was unoccupied at the time. The boys abandoned their mischief and fled!
