The Bank House

King's Staithe Square, King's Lynn, Norfolk PE30 1RD
01553660492

Although the hotel has been quiet for a few years now, when it was a restaurant (in the late 1970s), a lady in a long black crinoline dress and bonnett was seen by an employee but when the strange figure was followed, she was no longer to be seen. The lady might have been Louise Mary Cresswell whose mother lived here in the 19th century; Louise's daughter had died at the Bank House. Since the 70s, there have only been a few more reports, like activity particularly on the back stairs, where a tall dark figure had been seen and whispers have been heard; several people talked of this area feeling "creepy" and "terrifying." In recent years, people have talked of coming into work in the morning and find paperwork moved and paper clips being re-arranged during the night to look like "scary faces." Witnesses have also spoken of items jumping off the shelves.
