Melbourne Hall
Church Square, Melbourne, Derby, Derbyshire DE73 8EN

In the 19th century, the Hall was the home of Prime Minister William Lamb, the 2nd Viscount of Melbourne and he married Caroline Ponsonby who unfortunately suffered from a severe mental illness; perhaps because of this, she indulged in having public affairs with others. She died in 1828 and her ghost is said to haunt the Hall, walking around the grounds before vanishing at "The Birdcage" in the gardens.
