St Chad's Church

"Hauntingly sad" organ music has been heard coming from this church, said to be caused by Martin Ashe who went and played the organ here after being rejected by his girlfriend, and then went to the old mill on Wilne Lane and hanged himself. His figure, dressed in Victorian garb, surprised a courting couple by walking through their car.
