Charnes Hall

A beautiful young lady in a "billowing white gown" or shroud has been seen here, apparently looking for a wedding ring that was stolen from her finger by a servant after she was laid out in a coffin. Another version of the story is that it was a man who took her ring, chopping off her finger in the process which awoke the lady as she had wrongly been thought to have died; she lived for many years afterwards. Because of her clothing, she is nicknamed "Silky."
