The taps in the beer cellar have been turned off (along with possible other poltergeist behaviour including voices heard over the intercom) and a woman in blue has been seen in the pub and upstairs rooms, where she walks through walls. A young girl has also been observed. There may also be a more macabre story according to a local newspaper, which says that, "Legend has it, in the 18th century, a doctor had a woman's corpse brought to the pub and he started to dissect her. The woman wasn't dead though and she sat up, ran from the room in horror but died from shock. Modern-day visitors have reportedly heard her screams." A 2025 newspaper article also adds, "There are rumours of a ghostly boy who sits on the stairs, the Grey Lady who haunts the bar, and even a flying Scotsman who is reported to run up and down the corridor at the entrance of the pub" and a girl that 'lives' in the cellar (though some of these may be the ghosts previously mentioned above).
