Former RAF Metheringham

A young girl has been seen standing by the public road that cuts across the site between 9.30 and 10pm at night. She is dressed in a pale green coat with a grey chiffon scarf (some versions of the tale say that she wears the uniform of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force) and flags down vehicles asking for help for her fiancee who has fallen from his motorbike and lies injured nearby. She then vanishes leaving a hint of her lavender perfume and rotting flesh. She is thought to be Catherine Bystock who died in a motorbike accident, but her fiancee did survive.
