A member of the Forteana forum talks of some interesting experiences here (in addition to the controversial picture unveiled in October 2025); "there are reports of a knight on horseback several feet above the old moat (were a bridge would have been) into a bricked-up doorway; noises and phenomena in the former military and MOD buildings in the complex, and footsteps scaring out burly workmen who should have been the only ones in there; a timeslip where a surveyor saw medieval soldiers in what's now an abandoned tower; and mysterious voices in the chapel in the tower, heard by a full primary class visiting."
