Visitors have reported invisible hands clutching their necks here!

Update 2/9/20: Chris, a worker at the museum informs me, "yes ... members of the public too tell us stories about what they have heard or seen." However they did not respond to a query for examples of such stories.

On February 2nd, 2025, Neil Evans emailed me with his own experiences: "My encounter ... occurred 8 November 2005, the visit formed part of an Archaeological field trip which would end in Anglesey. The visit was to Chester ordinary, I'd been there before and since, but never have I returned to the Dewa Centre. Around halfway through the visit I turned around to walk to another exhibit, as I turned I stopped in my tracks. Behind another student was a figure, human in shape but indistinct in any other meaningful detail. It appeared in a hovering stance, its head rising about 2 foot above that of my fellow student, so about 7 to 8 foot off the ground. There were no distinguishable features on its face beyond a blurry tan colour - no nose, face, ears, nor hair. Its body was white, robe like given the lack of detail. What scared me the most was that it was in an enveloping stance with its arms out whilst seemingly standing behind the student. It looked as though it was going to throttle or bear hug her. Needless, to say I blinked and tried to readjust my vision and then there was nothing. It is amazing how a split second encounter 20 years ago still gives me a chill. I did email the museum, and I received a response saying similar sightings had occurred but they're mostly in an excavated area adjacent to the one I was at."
