A spectral old man is said to haunt the upstairs of this building but details are lacking; he may be the ghost referred to in some versions that sat at a circular table - that room was kept locked. This old man is also said to stare out of an upstairs window. A top floor bedroom is also said to be haunted by a young woman, and dogs refuse to enter that room. This young woman may be servant Sarah Miles, who drowned in a nearby well and who lived in the hall. Both she and the old man are reputed to have also been seen in the grounds at night.
