Woodcote Hotel

On 17/7/22, via Facebook I communicated with Phil who owned the Wheatsheaf pub and restaurant in Raby and until a few weeks ago, also the Woodcote Hotel in Hooton. He said that both the cellar and room 5 have ghosts; a woman dressed in black in the former and a child in the latter. He had seen them (as "presences") but his old housekeeper Yvonne had seen them properly. This was within the last 5 years and they were seen regularly. Yvonne said that the ghost in room 5 would hit her, and she would shout at it when going in the room to clean it, to frighten off the apparition. Phil did not know if any guests had seen the ghost in room 5; the cellar would not have been accessible to them.
