South Stack Lighthouse
South Stack, Holyhead, Anglesey LL65 1YH
Footsteps, tapping on glass and the front door rattling are blamed on the spectre of keeper Jack Jones, who was killed during the great storm of 1853. A ship named the Royal Charter had become grounded on the rocks and Jones tried to reach the lighthouse to help the situation but his skull was smashed by a rock. He managed to crawl up to the door of the lighthouse and died three weeks later.
