Ghostly figures have been seen near the runway and some spectral airmen have even been seen smoking cigarettes. A pilot has been seen walking into the control room before going upstairs and vanishing, and phantom mechanics have been seen rushing about in the hangers. The apparition of a lady has been seen, believed to be that of a lady who killed herself after learning that her fiancee had been killed in a bombing mission. Also, the figure of a cyclist has been observed - he was believed to be a man who was beheaded when he strayed too close to whirling propellers. Footsteps, opening doors and whistling of old songs have also been recorded here.
