The Earl of Strafford

A spectral lady, thought to be Ann Kent, is said to haunt this public house; one version says that she hanged herself from the bannister after she was forbidden from seeing a baker's son whom it was felt was below her social status; another version is that she tried to escape in the dumbwaiter but the rope being wrapped round her neck. The lady is seen on the stairs and also in the area of the (since removed) dumbwaiter.

Update: 17/3/20 Staff member Aaron told me that, "We certainly do have various unexplained issues that occur here"
