Wentworth Woodhouse Stable Block

A young boy running across the courtyard, and the sounds of his screams have been heard here. The origin of this seems to be the tale of a stable boy who was beaten with a crop by the 2nd Marquis for leaving the stable door for his favourite horse had been left open. In his haste to close the door, the boy didn't see a horse and cart entering the archway and was trampled to death.
