Heavy breathing in people's ears, glasses moving by themselves, running footsteps and an icy touch on the shoulder in the cellar have been experienced here - in this latter incident, the engineer involved also saw a nearby tap turn on. A newpaper interview in 2026 with Heather Knott, the Assistant Manager revealed, "I know there are ghosts. We've had a few experiences, like George. He lives in the cellar. Someone was closing up, and everything started shaking. Oh yeah, yeah, and then glasses flew off and that. Like in the cellar, you'll hear weird noises, and like you'll see, I don't know if it's just your mind, but like black shadow, like I don't know, different staff have experienced different things."

Update 17/2/22: The pub responded to my query for any recent phenomena: "yes it’s haunted but I don’t want no ghost hunters here because they are very settled but thanks for contacting me." Seeking clarification of any reports, I was further told, "Sorry if I was blunt but I have them all the time! I have never experienced nothing here it’s very settled and a happy place! But I do know some people who have lived/worked here and they’ve had some really bad experiences. They must like me eh? Nice energy I call it"
