Rectory Lane

The Owls at Standish restaurant stands on the site of the rectory of Charles Hutton and it is believed it is he who appears outside on Rectory Lane, either as a full bodied figure wearing a trilby, or as a mist. Footsteps have also been heard, and one witness reported an unnatural warmness in February under the railway bridge.
