The Plough Hotel

Gladys Saxton, a former landlady and her servant Mary Harrison, have been reported as "plumping up pillows." Both ladies died in a fire at the inn in 1945. A woman in a long black dress has been seen in the upstairs hallway and a spectral highwayman observed in a doorway. An unusual oddity here is that orbs visible to the naked eye have been seen.

Update 26/7/22: Regarding any recent phenomena, the hotel replied to my Facebook query as follows: "I have checked with the new owner and he said unfortunately they haven’t experienced anything as of yet." A follow-up email on 4/1/24 yielded the response from John: "I haven't seen anything myself, but several staff and guests claim to have had things move, or hear steps when nobody is there etc. There was a fire in the forties in which two people died."
