The Fox and Hounds

Once a rest house for monks of Jervaulx Abbey nearby, one of their number is said to have been seen here and a "Grey Nun" has been seen close to the cellar.

Update 21/8/21: The pub informed me via Facebook, "There is a story of someone seeing a monk walking down the corridor of the Upper floor. I actually met the person who saw it. We have just taken over the pub from a family who had the pub for 25 years... they never saw anything. But the ex landlord said whatever is here is benevolent. All I get from this ancient building is good vibes and a feeling someone is watching out for me"
