RNLI Poole Old Lifeboat museum

Fisherman's Dock, Poole, Dorset BH15 1HU
01202 666046

In 1884, lifeboat crewman James Hughes died after he was crushed under the wheels of the rig used to launch the boat into the sea. A black figure has been seen on the slipway and in the area, and people have reported a crushing sensation around their midriff as well as a man's voice.

Update 25/4/22: Manager David Corke replied to my email: "As far as I am aware there has been no indication of the ghost at the museum in recent years. I have been the manager for two years but due to Covid-19 the museum has been closed for much of this time. We reopened four weeks ago following a refurbishment."
