Dover College

Because of a lack of good-feeling between King Richard and his half-brother Archbishop Geoffrey, the latter was refused entry into England after the Crusades until the monarch was safely home, otherwise he was to be refused entry for three years. Soon after he was consecrated, Geoffrey did indeed return to take up his post and took up refuge in Dover Priory (now Dover College). After a series of arrests, including being tethered by the feet and dragged through the town, Geoffrey was rescued. That night, the town was hit by a terrible storm and it is when this weather condition is repeated that the Archbishop is seen, "drifting between the Gatehouse and the Refectory... as well as in adjacent Saxon and Effingham Streets" and phantom singing can be heard too coming from the area of the (now lost) Chapel.
