An old lady has been seen on the first floor, going in and out of the rooms here. In another room on the first floor, there is said to be a servant girl who committed suicide; she may be the one who roams the corridors too. Another room had a guest that mentioned someone breathing in her ear and in yet another suite, there is a story of a woman sat at the dressing hair attending to her hair, and another location was so haunted that it was converted into a linen cupboard. Downstairs, a figure in Charles II era clothing, a knight in armour and a lady dancing in the lounge. Elsewhere, dogs are said to be terrified and refused to go near a flight of stairs. c. 1990, stockinged legs were seen walking up the main staircase but with no body attached. About the same year, workers noticed a shadow pass by a window to the Oak Lounge but no-one could be found to account for this.
