Ghost entry for this location:

The Bishops Finger

St. Dunstans Street, Canterbury, Kent CT2 8AF
01227 768915

According to legend, every Friday night the ghost of a “plain faced, large woman in a long, wide skirt and a mobcap” appears in the street and thenn in one of the pub’s front bars. The legend continues that she may be Ellen Blean, who was married to a canon in the 16th century (some versions say that she was employed by him as a housekeeper) but when she found out that he was having an affair with a younger woman, she poisoned them both with a meat pie. She then vanished but her body was soon found walled up in a nearby place called Dark Entry. She had been entombed alive.
