Waggon and Horses

An elderly, if unclear lady dressed in "a white smock" has been seen by the bar; it is thought that she may be a former landlady and her ghost will vanish when sighted. A man in Victorian garb and smoking a pipe has been seen leaning against the fireplace, with a dog at his feet; the smell of tobacco lingered for quite a while afterwards. Another possible ghostly sighting refers to a figure wearing a tricorn hat and cape; he may be Walter Leader, who was accused (wrongly) of the murder of a Royal mail coachman. Lights in the bar turning on and off, a voice shouting "You!" and a ghostly coach and horses which is claimed to stop outside the pub on winter's nights are also said to occur here, too.
