The Grey House

Gardeners who worked here have reported seeing an elderly lady (known as The Lady in Purple, on account of the colour of her clothing) with a face as if she is about to chastise them, before vanishing. When she was alive, she is said to have complained that she couldn't retain the services of "a decent gardener" - understandable, since she often told them what a mess they were making of their work and otherwise over critically overseeing their efforts.
