An ex-member of staff (who requested anonymity) told me, "...supposedly there are 3 ghosts at this site maybe more, probably more to be fair, mary is said to haunt the basement, a man named george on the ground floor plus a little girl. On one instance one of my staff said he was clearing one of the private dining rooms in the basement and he said that he saw an older woman in the corner telling him to get out and from here on he was reluctant to go into this room alone for a while. One time I was behind the bar and I saw a man stood smiling at me who I presumed was waiting to be served as I approached him he seemed to duck down out of sight and when I looked around the bar there was no one there. Another time i was locking up the basement bar with another staff member, we made jokes about the ghost mary and in that moment I heard a growl come from behind me which my staff member also heard and needless to say we ran screaming from the bar and locked up and left hastily. This particular bar I found to be very frightening, there was always a negative feeling especially in the basement, I personally would never go into the basement alone."
