Footsteps have been heard on the stairs in the Vice Provosts Lodge and a cloaked figure has been observed in the buildings and crossing the playing fields. Jane Shore, Edward IV's lover, managed to prevent the building from being demolished and managed to secure her release when she was imprisoned, granting her accommodation. Her ghost is said to be friendly and is seen in various areas including Lupton's Tower, where she lived.
