Royal Albert HallKensington Gore, South Kensington, London SW7 2AP Two young women, known as "The Girls" have been seen briefly a little before 2am each November 2nd in the carpeted basement area beneath the Door 6 foyer. They are dressed "in the fashion of slightly risqué Victorian ladies" and are described as "animated and excited", and their laughter and giggles heard too. They have also been seen in other areas, like passing across the foyer, and on to the kitchen corridor where they vanish. The girls are blamed for tappings, footsteps and other noises, and other accidents in the kitchen late at night. Another ghost is Father Willis, whose stooped ghost wearing a black skull cap is seen when work is carried out on the organ, which he built. There is also a cold atmosphere behind the instrument. Other phantoms include a man dressed in white crossing the stage; a couple in Victorian clothing near Door 6 who vanish into a box; a young boy dressed in a long-sleeved frilly grey shirt with a high neck and braces, leaning over the gallery railings; a one-off sighting of a military gentleman on a chestnut horse in the lighting gallery above the stage; a woman in a long dress and black bolero running through the front stalls before disappearing; and a grey man shrouded in mist who was seen appearing and disappearing in the gallery. There are also fluctuations in temperatures and atmosphere in the gallery and sightings of ghosts in the toilets there; a security guard saw a "pulsating grey mass/ball emitting light which stretched from floor to ceiling and contained patches of dark" in the ladies lavatories there.
