HMP Chelmsford

A woman in a crinoline dress and a bonnet has been seen in the reception area and other areas; on one occasion she was described as being liked a "frosted" image. An old-fasioned warden carrying a lamp has also been reported, as has a figure in priest's clothing in the old chapel of the prison. Another male figure, smelling of aftershave, is another phantom resident amongst many other phenomena which includes footsteps, bangs, voices, the sound of children playing and whistling!
