Dundridge Manor

Off Oak Lane, Cholesbury-cum-St. Leonards, Buckland Common, Tring, Buckinghamshire HP23 6NL

A small boy attired in Victorian garb has been seen running around the main hall and staircase, where he died after falling down them. Margaret de la Pole, Countess of Salisbury, has also been observed in the grounds and surrounding fields and lanes where she lived some of her life. Her husband had a legitimate claim to the throne of England but he was not interested and he and his wife moved overseas. When she returned home after her husband died, Henry VIII was the ruler. He was suspicious of Margaret because her brother in law had been involved in a rebellion to take the crown years before and also because her son, who was now a cardinal in Rome, was preaching against the King's divorce of Catherine of Aragon. On trumped up charges, Margaret was arrested and eventually beheaded.
