Ghost entry for this location:

14 Colchester Road

St. Osyth, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex CO16 8HA

This building is commonly referred to as 'The Cage' and a sign on the wall here says that "St Osyth Resident Ursula Kemp was imprisoned here before being hanged as a witch in 1582. It was last used in 1908." However, research by the Paranormal Reason team has revealed that the true location of the lock-up was actually some 10 metres further south and has since been demolished. No. 14 is a private residence and has many paranormal claims attached to it. Black shapes have been seen in one room while in other areas, blood stains were seen on the wooden floor. A woman in a bed was restrained by being kneeled upon; and there are also stories of doors rattling and opening, cushions being thrown, the sound of people coming up the stairs, occupants being pushed and items moving and disappearing.
