The Plough

A shepherd and his flock of sheep have been seen in the street outside the Plough Inn, and the sound of an invisible horses' hooves instill reactions in animals, from panic to a transfixed gaze accompanied by paralysis; some say that is not just horses but a marching army, though they are heard more often that seen. The Black Abbott, seen in many parts of Prestbury including St Mary's churchyard, has also been reported here. Finally, a former landlady found one morning that during the night all the downstairs furniture had been rearranged placed in one room.
