The White Lion Hotel

The actress Sarah Siddons, who once stayed here, is said to walk the hotel. A spectral cat is also reputed to walk around the building, brushing past people's legs. Room 205 is said to be the centre of the hauntings above the ground floor - incidents include a man waking and feeling an invisible hand shaking his own, objects moving around and a vague figure, possibly male, being seen by the window. Captain Bounds, who fought for the Royalist movement in the Civil War, is also said to haunt this building.
