Prior's Court

Lower Ferry Lane, Callow End, Worcester, Worcestershire WR2 4TJ

A priory once stood on the site, and a legend says that a woman turned up seeking shelter from a storm but was instead raped and murdered by the monks, her corpse thrown into the River Severn. Her screams are still said to be heard during breaks in a storm and she has been seen running along nearby lanes. Inside the house, a Cavalier has been seen; he may be the phantom of a Royalist whose body was found in the chimney during restoration work. A teenage Victorian girl is another ghost, wandering between the courtyard and the orchard. A vague shape has been observed in the bedroom, too.
