Hall's Croft

Old Town, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire CV37 6BG
01789 204016

The figure in Elizabethan clothing seen peering down from a 1st floor window is believed to be Dr.Jonathan Hall, the husband of Shakespeare's eldest daughter. People experiencing a push on the back on the stairs may be a spectral remnant of Betty Leggett who died in a fall here in the years before World War 1. She may have been pushed down the stairs. Footsteps have also been heard running up and down here too.

Update 14/9/20: The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust replied to my email saying, "I have spoken with our Property Services Team who are regularly out and about our five sites. They have never been aware or heard of anything 'unusual' going on."
