The Cardinal's Hat

31 Friar Street, Worcester, Worcestershire WR1 2NA
01905 724006

Objects have been moved or disappear, and items fall from the walls of their own accord; also, faint conversations have been heard and a young blonde girl in a white nightgown or dress, nicknamed "Emily" seen running across the first (or second?) floor landing; she is blamed by some for the phantom mischief. There is reputed to be another ghost, named "The Cardinal" who sits by the window. Strange phenomena is apparently heralded by the lights behind the bar flickering. Intriguingly, the upper storeys have warmed up rapidly - the room soon became cold again. This may be a remnant of a fire that occurred here during Queen Victoria's reign. The conflagration started on the 1st floor and the landlord's daughter (a teenager with "long fair hair") died in the blaze.
