The Lion Inn

A lady in a Victorian dress was seen seated at a table; later licensees reported that their dog would "go nuts", obviously affected by something. A spectral man was also observed a few times; he was described as being about 55 and thinning on top. His clothing made the witness think he might have been a gardener. Although not completely transparent, he was said to be "not solid." He walked round the back of the fireplace but was no longer there upon investigation - and there was no other way out. However, it would seem that the building is quiet - for the time being anyway.

Update 3/4/24: After an 18 month wait, proprietor Simon Baxter replied to my query on recent phenomena: "the building definitely possesses more than one spirit and has a wealth of history and I myself have encounter a number of experiences ... as other people have there own stories too ... it may be the most haunted pub in the uk. All friendly though, (in my experience)"
