Kidderminster Fish Bar

95 New Road, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10 1AF
01562 227929

When this was the "Corn Exchange" pub, 'something' was seen in a first floor bedroom and the pub dog wouldn't go down the stairs at night; two cats suffered from such personality changes in the pub that they had to be rehomed. As for visible phantoms, an elderly woman in a cream suit, seemingly from the 1970s, was once seen by a column in the middle of the room. Locals say that her name is "Mary" and that she is seen on the top floors too. Apparently, she was a previous landlady. Another apparition, that of a man was also seen; he was described as being a tall, dark-haired man in Edwardian clothes who walked across the bar downstairs after closing time. Lightbulbs blowing, and telephones and the jukebox malfuncioning have also occurred in the pub. Meanwhile, in the upstairs area, licensees have reported items going missing and reappear in other, odd locations. It is not known if any of these phenomena persist since the change in name.
