Brownsover Hall

Sir John Boughton-Leigh who moved here with his family in 1790 is one of the ghosts here; he is seen in the old billiard room (now the bar). A lady in Victorian dress walks down the staicase and into the grounds. Footsteps, voices and groans have been heard coming from empty rooms, and the sound of hooves and coach wheels on the drive have also been detected too.

4/1/24 Lauren Rous, the wedding and events coordinator informs me, "I personally haven't had any experiences with ghosts etc and neither have my colleagues ... The only strange things people have said is about rooms 5 and 18 feeling like someone is in the room with them when they are in fact alone. I haven't heard anything else from any of the staff here with regards to ghosts/paranormal activity though." When I send Lauren my notes (above) she recalled hearing about footsteps.
