Cavaliers, Roundheads and the sound of old pistols being fired have been reported here. This latter phenomena could be a spectral remnant of the time that the Gunpowder Plotters sought refuge here, only to be pursued and surrounded by authorities. Once the ensuing fight was over the survivors were taken to London and later executed.
