The Chequers Inn

Occurrences here are very low key; the front door regularly opens by itself, with the latch lifting up, causing some consternation to one regular who witnessed this. Glasses have been known to slide off the bar, but this is attributed by the manager to a lack of friction rather than anything paranormal. The only thing that really stood out was when a man was seen near the fireplace at night when the manager was on the point of locking up. He apologised to the man for nearly shutting him in; but when he looked back the man had gone. He described the man as wearing a smart, two-piece Italian suit, the type worn by ex-military when they have been demobbed.
