In December 2022, a man who lived in married accommodation here took his sister and parents on a tour when they heard a carol service taking place in a hanger. Although tbe brother heard nothing, the others said that it lasted only a short period and they were to later learn that a Christmas service had taken place here during the last war. Aircraft engines have been heard starting up or coming in to one of the hangers, and one witness said that the whole building vibrated as the sound came and went past him, eventually dying away. Disemobied feet have been heard walking about in the old mess, and two World War 2 officers were seen in that same building.
