Before this pub became a private dwelling, there were sightings of "a nice old lady doing her thing" and wearing an old fashioned shawl wrapped around her shoulders. She acted as if she was oblivious to the living around her, even turning off the lights while a pool game was in progress. She became such a regular visitors that punters would carry on regardless of her presence. She was also seen in the living area, and the landlord would hear her coming up the stairs and see her standing at the bottom of his bed.
