When Hawkins Solicitors were based in this building, it was said that a ghost used to walk down the stairs, and that staff would hear footsteps (usually from the top floor) when they knew that no-one else was in the building. One time, a heavy door was heard to slam; the employee, who was working late and heard this latter event, never stayed after hours again! Whether these phenomena still occur is not known.
