The Quay, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk NR23 1AH
01328 801682

Children's footsteps have been heard running about on the 2nd floor, and a young lady seen on the stairs heading for the top floor; there is also supposed to be a woman dressed in a maid's uniform, and a sailor in an upstairs room. Staff were alarmed during closing time in 2003 when they heard banging noises coming from the upstairs flat and when they goaded the ghost into providing more activity, there were thudding noises, flashing lights and then an old lady in white came rushing down the stairs who disappeared in front the startled employees.
In addition, during a lock-in in the restaurant on the 1st floor, ten people heard three loud bangs on the serving hatch. Three more were then heard but when the kitchen, from where the sounds originated, was checked there was no-one there.

Update: on July 21st 2024, waitress staff informed that they knew of nothing ghostly at the pub.
